- Testing Criteria: Wet Dynamic Coefficient of Friction (DCOF) test method for hard surface materials such as ceramic, glass, stone and other hard surface tiles and panels with or without a coating
- NOT A FLOOR SAFETY STANDARD. Establishes minimum DCOF criteria for various surface conditions (i.e. Interior Dry, Interior Wet, Interior Wet Plus, Exterior Wet, Oils/greases)
- This is a Wet or Dry floor test using an SBR test foot and 0.05% SLS solution
- Developer: Tile Council of North America (TCNA), an industry trade association
Section 1.0 Scope
This standard describes the test method for measuring dynamic coefficient of friction (DCOF) of hard surface flooring materials. This method can be used in the laboratory or in the field. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of the standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
